The indy pro Joliet Slammers (Frontier League) have apparently been operating at Silver Cross Field under a memorandum of agreement signed in 2010, but a formal lease between the team and the city is currently being negotiated. Clarifying the scope and responsibilities for ballpark maintenance and repairs is one of the outstanding issues. The team is currently seeking reimbursement from the city for repairs to the video board and other items it covered in 2011. Read more here.
