PRESS RELEASE – The Delmarva Shorebirds, in partnership with High Voltage All Stars, are extremely excited to announce that the Delmarva Shorebirds Dance Team is back for a second season. Registration is now open to children between the ages of six and 19. Dancers can sign up online through the High Voltage website by clicking here.
The Shorebirds will hold two registration days at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium on January 14 and February 4. Both sessions will be held in the Executive Club on the third floor of Perdue Stadium from 11am-1pm. Dance instructors and representatives from the Shorebirds and High Voltage will be available to answer questions and assist with registration.
The Shorebirds Dance Team will undergo weekly technique and choreography lessons at High Voltage dance studios in preparation for six performances at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium during weekend Shorebirds games throughout the summer. The choreography lessons will be held on Saturday mornings this year. The team will perform on the following dates at Perdue Stadium: June 9, June 16, June 30, July 28, August 10 & August 17.
“The dance team was a great success in year one and we hope to continue to make lasting memories for dancers on the Eastern Shore,” said general manager Chris Bitters. “The dancers get a great thrill in performing in front of large crowds at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium.”
Each dancer will receive a custom designed uniform, practice gear, two free Shorebirds tickets to each performance, a VIP parking pass, countless hours of instruction at High Voltage, a chance to perform in front of large crowds at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium and an end-of-season party to be held at Perdue Stadium during a Shorebirds game.
The Shorebirds Dance Team will be separated into three teams based on age and prior dance experience. However, no prior dance experience is necessary to be a part of the Shorebirds Dance Team.
Dancers will be required to attend weekly dance/choreography lessons, which will be held at High Voltage studios, located at 1303 South Salisbury Blvd, Suite D. The dance studio is located across from Salisbury University and next to The Fractured Prune.
“We’re ready to rock Arthur W. Perdue Stadium even harder in year two of the Shorebirds Dance Team,” said Justine Lathbury, co-owner of High Voltage All Stars. “We are really excited to teach the kids dance routines that they are going to love.”
Dance lessons and choreography will be taught by experienced instructors. Brittney Marshall will once again serve as the dance team coach. Marshall’s dance experience includes ballet, Bennett’s Rock and Roll Revival, and a scholarship in field show dancing in college.
