The Ballpark at OOB to Get New Team

It was one and done for the New England Collegiate Baseball League’s Raging Tide this past season at The Ballpark in Old Orchard Beach (ME), but it appears the revived facility won’t be without a baseball tenant for long.  The second-year Futures Collegiate Baseball League is knocking at the door and could have a final lease deal approved by the town council as early as Dec. 20.  Read more here.

    i agree. the necbl is a dying breed. they don’t get what it means to keep a league healthy and thriving. those futures league guys are building something pretty special around new england.

    the talent on the field is really improving, i am a college baseball nerd and i’ve scene some of the rosters. they are looking pretty deep. i am excited to see some games this summer

    The NECBL did OOB a HUGE disservice by moving a bad team from one market to another. That operation was doomed. At least the Futures League is showing some signs of energy and enthusiasm. Something that has left the NECBL years ago.
