PRESS RELEASE – The Bowling Green Hot Rods, Class A Affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays, are pleased to announce three new full-time hires as well as recognize the promotion of two current staffers. Bill Robinson makes his return to professional baseball as the team’s new Director of Ticket Sales while Hank Fuerst has been named Manager of Broadcasting and Media Relations. Greg Heroy joins the team full-time as an Account Executive after spending the second half of the 2011 season with the Hot Rods. The team also announced the promotions of current staff members Keith Hetzer and Kyle Hanrahan.
“We welcome Bill, Hank, and Greg to our team and congratulate Keith and Kyle, ” stated Hot Rods President Brad Taylor. “All five fill important roles on our staff and are committed to making 2012 another magical season of Hot Rods baseball in South Central Kentucky.”
Robinson, comes to the Hot Rods with more than 12 years of ticket sales experience in professional and Division I college athletics. He will be responsible for the day-to-day sales of season, group, and mini-plan tickets as the Director of Ticket Sales. Prior to joining the Hot Rods, the Chattanooga native served as a consultant for a planned start-up of a $360 million athletic training facility. Robinson brings experience from three of the four major sports leagues having worked with the Detroit Tigers, the NFL’s New Orleans Saints and the NBA’s New Orleans Hornets.
Fuerst rejoins the Hot Rods as the new Manager of Broadcasting and Media Relations, replacing Tom Gauthier. After spending 2010 with the Hot Rods as a Broadcast Assistant, the Western Kentucky University graduate broadcast games for the Double-A Trenton Thunder in 2011. He will be the primary media contact beginning January 3, 2012.
Newly-promoted Keith Hezter and Kyle Hanrahan have both been members of the Hot Rods Front Office since day one. Hetzer is now Senior Sales Manager while Hanrahan has been named Senior Manager, Community and Merchandising. Their hard work over the past four years has helped to make Hot Rods’ games at Bowling Green Ballpark a fun entertainment option for the entire family while branding the team as a community partner in South Central Kentucky.
Heroy joins the staff as a full-time Account Executive after coming aboard during the 2011 campaign. The New Jersey native will work with fans and community groups to create memorable experiences when they come to the ballpark. He began his career with the Class A Lakewood BlueClaws in his home state in 2010.
