LumberKings Ballpark Getting Updgrades

PRESS RELEASE – The 75-year-old home of the Clinton LumberKings is undergoing new construction in two areas this fall and winter. Ashford University Field is receiving upgrades in the form of the new “Bullpen Patio” and the addition of a roof over the Leinenkugel’s Lumber Lounge.

Both projects are being funded in part by a grant from the Clinton County Development Association and from money raised by the non-profit “Friends of Riverview Stadium” organization and the Clinton LumberKings.

The “Bullpen Patio” is being constructed just behind the LumberKings’ bullpen area down the left-field line. The patio will be a new party area for groups of 10-50 people featuring high-top tables, close proximity to the field and personalized wait staff. Meanwhile, the park’s largest group area – the Leinenkugel’s Lumber Lounge – is being given a roof in order to protect fans from the elements.

Both areas will be completed in time for the 2012 season. Interested groups can already begin booking the Bullpen Patio and the Leinenkugel’s Lumber Lounge by contacting the LumberKings at 563-242-0727.

The LumberKings, Midwest League affiliate of the Seattle Mariners, open the 2012 season at Ashford University Field on Thursday, April 5 as they take on Burlington. For the 2012 schedule, season ticket and group party information, merchandise and more, call the LumberKings at 563-242-0727 or visit www.lumberkings.com.
