New Entrance at Parkview Field to Tie-In Private Development

The Fort Wayne (IN) Redevelopment Commission on Monday approved $13,800 for work to begin on designing approximately $100,000 in improvements along Jefferson Boulevard and Ewing Street, including a new entrance to Parkview Field, home of the Single-A Fort Wayne TinCaps.  The improvements will include streetlights, new brick sidewalks and trees to match the rest of Harrison Square streetscape.

The facelift has been on the table for a few years but delayed by the city because of uncertainty surrounding the private development adjacent to the ballpark.  However, with new developers on board, The Harrison project, which will include first-floor retail shops, second-floor offices and apartments on the third and fourth floors, the city decided to pull the trigger on the new ballpark entrance and streetscaping.  Read more here.
