Ebert Named Northwest League Executive of the Year

PRESS RELEASE – At the Northwest League meeting in Vancouver, BC, last week Tri-City Dust Devils Vice President/General Manager Derrel Ebert was honored as the 2011 Northwest League Executive of the Year.

The award comes after a season in which the Dust Devils set a franchise single-season attendance record for the fifth consecutive year at Gesa Stadium with 85,953 fans. The Dust Devils also set a single-game attendance record with 3,811 fans at the season finale. Overall, Tri-City has increased attendance seven consecutive years.

“There are many people that helped make 2011 another record-breaking year in the Tri-Cities. Our front office staff works extremely hard throughout the year and we get great support from our fans, sponsors, the Colorado Rockies, and the City of Pasco,” says Ebert. “This award is a compliment to all those involved with Dust Devils baseball!”

The record-breaking crowds got to witness a historic season at Gesa Stadium. On the field, the Dust Devils won the East Division first half and second half championships and swept the Boise Hawks in the first round of the playoffs to advance to the NWL Championship Series for the third time in five years. The team tied a league record with ten shutouts on the season, with pitchers Christian Bergman and Kenneth Roberts named to the NWL all star team, and Freddie Ocasio was named Manager of the Year for the second time.

Dust Devils President Brent Miles won the Executive of the Year award in 2007.

Fans looking to be a part of the excitement in 2012 can visit the stadium box office or call (509) 544 8789 to receive information on next year’s ticket packages.
