Questions About Beer Sales in Watertown

The Watertown (NY) City Council paid a consultant last night to advise them on complying with state liquor laws at Alex T. Duffy Fairgrounds, home of the summer collegiate Watertown Wizards (Perfect Game League). Read more here.

While the fee was only $150 an hour, we’re wondering why someone (maybe the city manager or city attorney?) from this not so tiny and unsophisticated city of nearly 30,000 people couldn’t have just picked up the phone and talked with folks at the New York State Liquor Authority?  In any case, there seems to be continued fumbling/farting around here with beer sales, which is one reason the owner of the Wizards decided to put his team up for sale.
