Loons Take Food and Beverage Management In House

PRESS RELEASE – After five seasons of partnering with Professional Sports Catering (PSC), the Great Lakes Loons announced today the transition of the team’s food and beverage operations to an in-house management staff.

“We are excited about this new challenge,” said Loons President and General Manager Paul Barbeau. “After a great partnership with PSC over the first five years, we are confident in our ability to operate in house and continue to deliver a high quality food and beverage experience to our guests. In addition, this transition will offer additional growth opportunities for our staff.”

Leading the initiative as the Director of Food and Beverage will be Jenny Coleman, formerly Loons executive chef with PSC, who will be responsible for all aspects of the food and beverage operation, including the management of all full-time and part-time employees.

Taking over as Executive Chef will be Erik Brewster, a Midland native with prior culinary experience at Soaring Eagle Casino and the Midland Country Club. In his new role, Brewster will be lead chef and manage all kitchen staff for catering at Loons games and other Dow Diamond events.

In addition, the Loons have named Matt Stevens Concessions Manager. Stevens, an Auburn native, will oversee all aspects of the concessions operation of Dow Diamond’s main concourse for Loons games and other events. He will supervise seasonal employees and non-profit groups who staff all concessions locations at Loons games. Stevens has served in a variety of seasonal food and beverage roles with the Loons as a PSC employee since 2007.

Dow Diamond is the home field for the Great Lakes Loons, a sixth-year Single-A partner of the Los Angeles Dodgers, and one of the region’s premiere special events facilities. For more information about Dow Diamond and the Loons, visit Loons.com or call 989-837-BALL.
