Amarillo Sox Promote One, Add Another to Front Office

PRESS RELEASE – The Amarillo Sox Baseball Club announced two additions to their 2012 front office staff today with the promotion of Austin Sutter and hiring of Dave Kost.

Sutter joined the Sox last year as the Director of Stadium Operations. In this position, he oversees utilization of the venue, finances, business administration, field maintenance, repairs, construction, and stadium clean-up. In addition to his existing duties, moving into the front office will include that of Corporate Sales reaching out to businesses, corporations, and non-profit organizations in effort to support the foundation put into place during the Sox’s inaugural season of 2011.

After a one-year hiatus, Kost returns to Amarillo as the club’s Vice President of Business Operations. No stranger to the Amarillo community, Kost previously held the position of Assistant General Manager with the Amarillo Dillas during the 2006, 2007, 2009 and 2010 seasons. In 2008, Kost served as the Vice President and General Manager of the Harlingen WhiteWings. In his role with the Sox, Kost will focus on cultivating long-term business relationships with local and nationwide companies through developing, implementing, and managing marketing strategies.

As the club moves forward in their business plan approaching the construction of a new multi-million dollar stadium, scheduled to open in 2014, Sox general manager Mark Lee is comfortable with where his team is positioned.

“Old or new, operating a professional baseball stadium and organization requires seasoned management”, Lee said. “Moving Austin (Sutter) into his new role and bringing Dave (Kost) in here will only enhance our existing staff which has done an outstanding job of positioning the Sox to be successful in our community for the years ahead”.

Season tickets are available for purchase in-person or over the phone by visiting the Amarillo Sox Executive Offices at 801 South Polk Street or by calling (806) 242-4653. VISA, MasterCard, and Discover accepted.
