PRESS RELEASE – On the heels of getting named the new general manager of the Quad Cities River Bandits, Stefanie Brown has been named the Midwest League Female Executive of the Year as voted on by league executives. This is the third time in four years the league has recognized Brown with such an award.
“Stefanie continues to make our entire organization proud with what she has accomplished since joining the River Bandits team,” said team owner Dave Heller. “She has been an invaluable asset to this organization as one of the top executives in all of Minor League Baseball.”
Brown has been an integral part of the River Bandits organization since joining the franchise in 2007. She was instrumental in the success of the 2011 Midwest League All-Star Game hosted by the River Bandits in June. Her involvement in the planning of the two-day showcase event ranged from planning details of all activities over the course of the week to coordinating hotel accommodations for players and executives traveling to the Quad Cities for the festivities.
After just one season as the director of community and client relations, Brown was quickly promoted to assistant general manager prior to the 2009 season, a position she held for three seasons. She was named River Bandits general manager at a press conference held at Modern Woodmen Park in early September and continues to transition into the new role.
“This has been an unforgettable year from the All-Star Game to the promotion then the Bandits winning the championship and now this,” said Brown. “I am genuinely honored with the continued respect of my friends and colleagues around the league. I am grateful to earn this special award for the third time in last past four years. We all work extremely hard to continue to improve our operation on a daily basis and I take a lot of pride in all that we do here in the Quad Cities.”
As the recipient of the league award, Brown is now nominated for the national Rawlings Women Executive of the Year award. That award will be presented at the annual Baseball Winter Meetings in Dallas, TX December 5-8.

ABOUT THE BANDITS: After three years of ballpark improvements, the River Bandits and the City of Davenport have just unveiled some of the most impressive enhancements to Modern Woodmen Park yet. Those improvements, in addition to new flood protection, a new front plaza, and a new parking lot directly across the street from the ballpark, are quickly making Modern Woodmen Park one of the premier facilities in all of Minor League Baseball.
