The San Antonio Missions swept the Arkansas Travelers in three games to capture the fran- chise’s 12th Texas League title. San Antonio had a minor-league baseball best 94-46 regular season record and a 6-1 post-season record to finish at 100-47 overall, becoming the first team in the league to reach the century mark in wins since 1957.
“I’m very honored to receive this award,” Yarbrough said. “This is a reflection of the great job our staff did this year. The 75th Texas League All-Star Game was a wonderful celebration for the city of San Antonio and our fans were able to witness one of our greatest teams in franchise history.”
The 2011 season was Yarbrough’s 24th with the Missions and 18th at Wolff Stadium. This is the third time he has won the award, after also being named Executive of the Year in 1989 and 2004.
The award is named after the long time Arkansas Travelers General Manager who spent 33 years at the helm in Little Rock before retiring in 2009.
