PRESS RELEASE – With a sellout at the Saturday, September 10 night game at Bethpage Ballpark, the Long Island Ducks registered their 600th sellout in team history. Magical number 600 comes in the club’s 12th year of existence and is 378 more than the team closest in the league in all-time sellouts (Somerset, 222 to date in their 14th year).
“It is a wonderful accomplishment to reach this milestone and a reflection of the tremendous support Long Island has shown the Ducks since day one,” says Ducks’ president/general manager Michael Pfaff. “It is a privilege to be able to provide affordable family entertainment for all Long Islanders and deliver a product all can enjoy.”
For 11 consecutive seasons, the Ducks have led the Atlantic League in attendance and continue to set the pace again in 2011. Earlier this season, the team also welcomed its five millionth fan through the gates when Andrea Pizzo of Commack passed through the turnstiles on Saturday, July 30 when the Ducks hosted the Road Warriors.
The Long Island Ducks are in their 12th season of play in the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball and play their home games at Bethpage Ballpark in Central Islip, N.Y.
