PRESS RELEASE – Patrick Watkins of Modesto walked through the turnstiles at John Thurman Field at 1:30 p.m. and became the 180,345th fan of the 2011 season – setting the franchise attendance record for the 5th consecutive season. Watkins, attending the game with his family, waited until the final game of the season to attend his first Nuts game in 2011. The waiting paid off as Watkins won a prize pack with the following items:

The Modesto Nuts have set a franchise attendance record for 5 consecutive seasons. In addition to the overall attendance record, the Nuts set a franchise record with 14 sellouts during the season, including the 2011 All-Star Smash. “The 2011 season has been a special one for the Modesto Nuts franchise,” said Nuts Vice President/General Manager Mike Gorrasi. “When you combine the 2nd half championship, 14 sellouts and the All-Star Smash, the 2011 season will certainly be remembered as the best season in franchise history.”
The Nuts finished the season with an overall attendance of 180,785.
The 2011 California League playoffs begin on Wednesday, September 7th. The Nuts will face the Stockton Ports in the first-round best-of-three series. Game one on September 7th will be in Stockton while game two (9/8) and game three (9/9 if necessary) will be played in Modesto.
