PRESS RELEASE – The State College Spikes and their fans will be looking to etch their names into planet Earth’s most recognized record book on Thursday night, with six world-record attempts on tap during the course of Guinness World Records Night at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park.
During the Spikes’ 7:05 p.m. game against the Jamestown Jammers (Florida Marlins), fans will have the opportunity to participate in setting the following Guinness World Records:
-World’s Largest Limbo Contest
Fans will limbo at the gates to break the current record of 1,151 people in a limbo contest
-Most Self-Inflicted Pies to the Face in 30 Seconds
The fan who can throw the most pies into his or her own face will set a new world record, as this record has never before been attempted
-World’s Largest Game of Rock, Paper, Scissors
Fans in their seats can play the game also known as Roshambo with their neighbors and break the current record of 1,161 people in a single game of Rock, Paper, Scissors.
-World’s Largest Backwards Mascot Race
The stable of competitors in Thursday night’s Chick-Fil-A Mascot Race will set a new world record when all of them run backwards in the race.
-Most Dizzy Bat Spins While Wearing a Sumo Suit
Two participants will spin themselves silly while carrying the weight of a sumo suit to set a new world record.
-Most Backflips By a Ballpark Creature in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
Spikes fans’ two favorite mascots, Ike the Spike and the Nittany Bank Nookie Monster, have been working on their backflips, and one of them will set the new record.
All record attempts will be recorded and sent to Guinness World Records headquarters to be verified as true world records, with the Spikes and their fans recognized as part of the historic occasion.
