PRESS RELEASE – The Edmonton Capitals are honouring the men and women of the Canadian Armed Forces at this Friday’s game against the Calgary Vipers with Military Appreciation Night, including commemorative camouflage jerseys.
The Caps will wear their special edition jerseys when they battle the provincial rival Vipers on Friday at 7 p.m. The jerseys will then be autographed and auctioned off after the game, with proceeds going to the Soldier On program, which improves the quality of life of injured or ill Canadian Forces personnel and former personnel.
There will also be a unique ceremonial first pitch that involves soldiers rappelling down the 20-foot centre field wall, and it’s also the final Fireworks Friday of the regular season presented by 92.5 JOE FM. There will be a spectacular fireworks display shortly after the final out, and then the military jersey auction will be held.
The Capitals are the city’s most affordable entertainment option in the summer, featuring Edmonton’s largest patio! Flex packs are available in multiples of eight for $48 less than day-of-game pricing. Individual game tickets start at $10 in advance and can be purchased at the Capitals Box Office (10233 – 96 Ave) during regular business hours Monday through Friday, at any Ticketmaster location, online at capsbaseball.ca or via phone at 780-414-GOAL (4625).
