Miami Marlins?

We don’t know how we missed this (or maybe it was just early Alzheimer’s), but the Florida Marlins will reportedly change their name to the Miami Marlins when the club moves into their new stadium in 2012.  We wondered about this some time ago and hoped this would be the case.  Read more here.  Speaking of the Marlins, the team has used fan suggestions in building the new park.  Read more here.  Thanks to John Cerone for the link.

    Yeah, actually, the Miami Marlins name was announced when the ballpark was in March 2009. Here’s just one story. I’ve seen several places talking about the name change lately, so it seems a lot of people missed it.
