Cutters Announce 2011 Promotional Lineup

PRESS RELEASE – The Williamsport Crosscutters have unveiled their 2011 slate of promotions for the club’s 38-game home schedule. The 2011 home-opener is scheduled for Friday, June 17 as the Crosscutters host the rival State College Spikes. Opening Night 2011, presented by River Valley Transit & KISS-FM, will feature a schedule magnet giveaway for the first 2,500 fans plus loads of opening night festivities.

New Cutters Manager Mickey Morandini will be the subject of three promotional giveaway this season; Mickey Morandini Bobbleheads on July 16, Morandini Card Sets on July 20 and Mickey Morandini Autographed Baseballs on August 1.

“Having Mickey Morandini as our manager this year has a lot of fans excited,” said Gabe Sinicropi, the Cutters Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations. “With all the off-season build-up regarding his return to professional baseball, we felt it only fitting to build some fun promotions around him.” Other promotional highlights include:

Fireworks after four Saturday night home games (June 18, July 9, July 30, September 3)

Giveaways including: Schedule Magnets – June 1, Cutters Caps – June 24,Topps Baseball Card Packs – July 5, Team Photos – July 19 & August 10, Baseballs – August 9, Cutters Card Sets – August 20.

Theme Nights in 2011 will include: Military Appreciation Night June 25, Bowman Field Big Top Night (circus theme) July 1 , 4th of July Picnic Bash July 4, Irish Heritage Night July 28, Girl’s Night Out July 29, Terror at Bowman Night July 30, Going Green Night August 1.

Entertainers, performers, and celebrities will also be making visits to Williamsport including:

Pro Wrestler Mick Foley – July 9

Team Ghost Riders – July 27

Reggy – August 7

The Phillie Phanatic – August 30

Four Pack the Park Night dot the schedule: Williamsport Sun-Gazette Pack the Park Night – June 30, Marcellus Shale Pack the Park Night – July 27, Susquehanna Health Pack the Park Night – August 9, Penn College Pack the Park Night – August 30.

The team is also planning three special charity auctions to benefit local charities:

June 25 – Military Appreciation Night. The team will be outfitted in special military-styled jerseys that can be bid on during a silent auction during the game with proceeds donated to the Master Sgt. Sean Thomas Foundation and Masonic charities.

July 4 – Cutters players will wear special limited edition red, white & blue caps. Fans can bid on the caps with proceeds to benefit the New York-Penn League Foundation.

July 30 – Terror at Bowman Night. The team will be outfitted in special “Terror” jerseys that can be bid on during a silent auction during the game with proceeds benefitting the YMCA’s Strong Kids Campaign.

Again this season, the Cutters will have special “day of the week” promotions where fans can take advantage of great specials.

Mondays will be “Military Mondays” where all active and retired military personnel get a free admission ticket when they show their military ID at the box office.

Thursdays are “Thirsty Thursdays”. From 6-8pm selected soft drinks are 2 for 1 plus ½ price beer.

Fridays are “Kids Free Fridays” from Jersey Shore State Bank. All kids age 12 and under are admitted free. Plus “Happy Hour” from 6-7pm. Selected soft drinks are 2 for 1 and beer is ½ price.

The Crosscutters will also be hosting the 1st annual Cutters 5K Run to benefit the Children’s Development Center. More information and entry forms can be downloaded at crosscutters.com. The team will also be hosting the Lewis & Clark Circus again this year on July 2nd and 3rd outside Bowman Field.

Game times for 2011 are; Monday – Saturday 7:05pm, with Sunday games starting at 5:05pm. The July 4 and September 4 games begin at 1:05pm.
