Kleinhans-Shulz Announced as Bucks Voice for 2011

PRESS RELEASE – The Waterloo Bucks, members of the Northwoods League, have announced that Chris Kleinhans-Schulz will serve as the Bucks’ radio announcer for the 2011 season.  Kleinhans-Schulz will begin his first summer as the voice of the Bucks on June 1 when Waterloo opens the season on the road against the Battle Creek Bombers.

“I am extremely excited to become the Bucks play-by-play announcer for the 2011 season,” said Kleinhans-Schulz. “Like the players on the field, my dream is to make the big leagues someday, and I am looking forward to continuing that quest over the summer here in the Cedar Valley. I would like to thank General Manager Dan Corbin and the rest of the Bucks organization for bringing me into the broadcast booth for my first season of baseball in Waterloo and in the Northwoods League.”

A Waverly, Iowa native, Kleinhans-Schulz recently finished his junior year at Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, Indiana and is currently in the process of completing a bachelor’s degree in communications. Kleinhans-Schulz began his radio career at WVUR-FM, Valpo’s campus radio station. In three years at WVUR, Kleinhans-Schulz has been a sports broadcaster, on-air personality, station webmaster, and assistant sports director.

As a play-by-play announcer and color commentator, Kleinhans-Schulz has covered nine different varsity sports teams at Valparaiso University, including baseball, basketball, and soccer. Career highlights include being on the call for Valpo appearances in the 2009 Horizon League Women’s Soccer Championship game and the 2010 Preseason WNIT.

The Bucks 2010 season will be aired on Brite 95.3 FM KQMG.  All of Waterloo’s home and road games will be broadcast live over the airwaves as well as on the web.

The Bucks will open the 2011 season on the road at the Battle Creek Bombers on June 1.  Season tickets and single-game tickets are currently on sale. Fans are encouraged to stay in touch with the Bucks in the off-season by utilizing their website at www.waterloobucks.com.
