PRESS RELEASE – The Portland Sea Dogs, Double-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, return to Hadlock Field for a three-game Mother’s Day weekend series against the New Britain Rock Cats (Twins)May 6th-8th. April showers are behind us as Slugger will bring the May Flowers for Mother’s Day in what is sure to be a beautiful weekend at Hadlock Field.
The homestand will feature the second post-game fireworks show of the year on Friday night along with the largest 5K in the State of Maine on Sunday, and much more. Take a look at all of the events taking place this weekend at Hadlock Field.

All fans are asked to bring non-perishable food items to the game to be donated to the Good Shepherd Food Bank. - Mother’s Day 5K Road Race- The Portland Sea Dogs along with the Maine Track Club and Paradigm Window Solutions will hold the 11th annual Mother’s Day 5K Road Race at 9:15 AM. Proceeds from the event will go to benefit Maine Breast Cancer Research. You can register onlinefor the 5K or the free Kid’s Fun Run.
- Breast Cancer Awareness Day-The players will wear pink uniforms for Breast Cancer Awareness.
- Kid’s Club Day– Come celebrate Slugger’s Birthday! Kids will get to help Slugger blow out the candles on his 18th birthday. The gathering will happen in the birthday area and all kids attending will get a sweet treat thanks to Hood.
