Wizards Pay Up, Seek Lease Extension

The Watertown (NY) City Council will consider tonight a one-year lease extension for the New York Collegiate Baseball League’s Watertown Wizards to continue using Alex T. Duffy Fairgrounds.  Lease discussions were reportedly put on hold until the Wizards paid a $46,o0o debt owed to the city that was discovered in the mismanaged books of the city’s parks and recreation department.  The team has since paid up.  Read more here.
