As you know, the Single-A Kinston (NC) Indians will be relocating to Zebulon (NC) after the 2011 season, which will leave historic Grainger Stadium without a tenant. Current K-Tribe majority owner Cam McRae is optimistically working with others to find a replacement franchise, and he’s keeping a close eye on the Single-A Frederick (MD) Keys, which could become homeless if they lose their battle with the indy pro Atlantic League for the rights to Harry Grove Stadium.
There may be a variety of options for Kinston, but we continue to believe the best fit the for the small community of just over 22,000 would be the summer collegiate Coastal Plain League.
