Hot Rods Unveil 2011 Promo Schedule

PRESS RELEASE – The Bowling Green Hot Rods, Class A affiliate of the American League East Champion Tampa Bay Rays, welcome back South Central Kentucky with an exciting new slate of promotions for the 2011 season. As the Hot Rods kick off their third season on April 11, fans can expect something great at every home game this year.

“We can’t wait to share our new promotions with fans this year,” said Hot Rods President Brad Taylor. “We have so many new events joining our most popular activities from the past few years. We talked with fans during the offseason and it’s our goal to give them more of what they want.”

The action-packed new schedule gets underway with Citizens First Opening Night on April 11 with the first 1,000 fans receiving a commemorative t-shirt courtesy of Citizens First. On four select Friday nights, the first 1,000 fans will receive a unique collector’s t-shirt as part of the 2011 Hot Rods t-shirt series. Fans Choice T-Shirt Giveaway Night returns on June 16, when fans receive the t-shirt they selected. Good heart health is the focus of Daymar College Ladies Night on June 24, celebrated with a red tee giveaway. On August 18, local Greenwood High School legend and Milwaukee Brewers slugger Corey Hart will be honored with a bobble-head giveaway, a can’t-miss for baseball fans and memorabilia collectors alike.

A host of unique events at Bowling Green Ballpark kick off Sunday, May 1, when fans are invited to bring their dogs to the game for Bark at the Park Night presented by Hill’s Pet Nutrition. ‘Innovative’ is the best description for the May 18th Facebook Fans Night promotion. This unprecedented ongoing event which received national recognition has given fans the chance to dictate every element of the game. Those who love food won’t want to miss the inaugural “Feed Your Face Night” on June 15. For only $12, fans will receive a box seat and a limitless supply of delicious ballpark cuisine including hot dogs and hamburgers.

Creating an extraordinary fan atmosphere is a priority for the Hot Rods, as is an ever-expanding commitment to the South Central Kentucky community. As a result, the Hot Rods are excited to honor teachers and school officials on June 2 as part of “Educator Appreciation Night.” This night is highlighted by an appearance by Mr. Belding, the lovable principal on the ’90’s high school comedy, Saved by the Bell. Then on May 19, Pink in the Park Night returns. In addition to raising money through ticket sales to battle breast cancer, the Hot Rods will wear special pink jerseys for the game that will be auctioned off during the 7th inning stretch. The Hot Rods celebrate Bowling Green’s bright future with Kindergarten Graduation Day on June 26, and acknowledge the brave men and women who protect this country with free tickets for veterans and active military on Memorial Day, May 30.

Post-game fireworks return with a bang for the 2011 season, moving to Saturday nights. Starting on April 16, the team will light off 10 Saturday Fireworks shows plus special performances on July 3 & 4 and after the season-finale on September 2.

Joining Saturday fireworks are a series of regular promotions, ensuring that every night is a special night at Bowling Green Ballpark. Minit Mart Mondays offer fans free coupons on Monday games. “All-You-Can-Eat Tuesdays” give fans an incredible value on an all-you-can-eat feast for only $8. Thrifty Thursdays feature a variety of $2 food and drink specials all night. Fun Fridays mean premium giveaways and special events like three Faith & Family Nights and a pair of Scout Sleepover Nights. Sundays are all about the kids; In addition to six free games for members of the new Hot Rods Kids Club, youngsters 14 and under can run the bases after the game in the Smucker’s Uncrustables Fun Run.

There’s plenty more one-of-a-kind promotions to be added after the Hot Rods season gets underway.
