The summer collegiate Prospect League’s Springfield (IL) Sliders will no longer have a long distance owner. In a pretty bold but understandable move, team owner Jesse Bolder has decided to relocate himself and his young family from Wisconsin down to Springfield to run the franchise himself.
Bolder and Clark Eckhoff, owner of the summer collegiate Northwoods League’s Wisconsin (Wausau) Woodchucks, co-owned the Sliders when the team was launched in 2008 as a new member of the Central Illinois Collegiate League. We’re not sure if Eckhoff is still involved. Bolder was the chief operating officer for the Woodchucks for several years before taking on the Sliders. Read more here.
