Slammers Looking for Best Voices and Entertainers

PRESS RELEASE – On Saturday April 9, bring your best vocals and acrobatics to Silver Cross Field. The Joliet Slammers announced today they’ll be holding open try outs for some jobs that can only be described in one word: fun. All aspiring National Anthem singers, PA announcers, and mascot performers are invited to show off their skills.

National Anthem try outs will begin at 9:00 a.m. at the field. All candidates should enter at the south gate, which is located on Jefferson Street.

Those wishing to use their voice to entertain in a different way as the Slammers’ PA announcer should arrive at 10:30 a.m. at the south gate. The first round will consist of reading advertisements and other announcements. Then, when the Saint Francis double header starts at noon, those who advance past the first round will get the chance to announce each hitter.

Candidates for the Slammers’ mascot position should bring their own costumes. However, if you do not have a costume, the team will have them available for use. Mascot hopefuls are required to write out a skit idea and bring it with them to the ballpark. Those wishing to try out need to arrive no later than noon as they will be performing in front of the Saint Francis fans.

All interested candidates for every position are required to register for the event by emailing our offices at info@jolietslammers.com. In the email, please provide your full name, phone number, and what position you are trying out for on April 9th. Registration closes at 5:00 p.m. on Friday April 8th.

A reminder, our job fair for other game day positions is being held this Saturday at the ballpark. You can read more details about that event at http://jolietslammers.com/archives/229.
