Alexandria Aces Unveil New Logo

PRESS RELEASE – Alex, the fighter pilot that has been the iconic mascot for the Alexandria Aces for several years, has gotten a makeover. Aces president Eric Moran unveiled the updated logo Saturday.

“Alex has been pestering the new ownership group since we took over in 2009 that he needed some updating,” Moran said in a statement issued by the team. “While we put off that decision until recently, Alex has been insistent that his new logo will modernize and update the Aces’ look into the next version of the Aces.”

The new logo incorporates the vegas gold color instead of the brown and yellow, but still uses the primary black and red colors that Aces’ fans have grown accustomed to seeing at Bringhurst, Moran said.

The new logo was created by John Miguez of Impact Advertising in Alexandria, Moran said.

The Aces, with a long history as a professional minor league franchise, switched to the summer wood-bat ranks last summer, joning the Texas Collegiate League.

The Aces’ 2011 season will start June 1st at Bringhurst Field with a game against the Acadiana Cane Cutters. Acadiana is a new TCL franchise based in Lafayette.

The Aces will host 30 regular-season games during the summer at Bringhurst Field.

Season tickets are on sale for $100 a seat for reserve seats or general admission.
