Tenacious C Bursts On the Scene at BCB

PRESS RELEASE – The Altoona Curve welcomed more than 400 fans to their annual Baseball Bash on Friday night at Blair County Ballpark and the newest member of the Curve mascot family, Tenacious C, was introduced to the fans in attendance. The start of Baseball Bash also signified the official opening of ticket sales for individual games for all 71 Curve home games.

Dressed sharply in his railroad engineer attire, the Curve’s new mascot Tenacious C greeted fans for the first time as the Curve opened up their ballpark for fans to enjoy a night of food, activities, national anthem tryouts and fireworks. Tenacious C, officially named back on January 28th, will join Steamer, Diesel Dawg and Al Tuna this season to create a foursome of mascots for the team.

Individual tickets for all 71 games on the 2011 Altoona Curve schedule are now available online at AltoonaCurve.com, over the phone at 877.99.CURVE and the box office at Blair County Ballpark. The box office will also be open tomorrow, Saturday, March 12, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Curve open the home portion of their season on Thursday, April 14th with “Championship Weekend” festivities which will include a pre-game ring ceremony for the 2010 Eastern League Champions, a Magnet Schedule Giveaway to the first 5,000 fans courtesy of Altoona First Savings Bank, a post-game fireworks show and many other special activities. The next night, Black and Gold linebacker Lawrence Timmons will make an appearance for a two-hour autograph session thanks to Peoples Natural Gas and WTAJ-TV. The Curve will host a fireworks show on Saturday, April 16, and giveaway a replica Eastern League Championship Trophy to the first 1,000 fans thanks to Holiday Inn Express on Sunday, April 17.
