PRESS RELEASE – The Tennessee Smokies, Double-A affiliate of the Chicago Cubs, are pleased to roll out the 2011 promotional schedule as part of our “Century of Memories” campaign. With a concentrated effort to offer the best value in local entertainment, the Smokies are returning many promotional favorites and adding some new twists and turns throughout the season. With something different lined up for every game, the 2011 Smokies experience is going to bring a “Century of Memories!”
This announcement is the first of a two-segment promotional schedule launch, and includes daily promotions such as “$1 Hot Dog Nights” and the popular “KRAFT Singles Tuesday Night Tickets” just to name a few. The second part of the promotional schedule will be released next Tuesday, March 1, featuring unique theme nights, giveaways and appearances. The nightly promotions are as follows:
Movie Mondays: We have themed every Monday game after some of your favorite movies and actors. Also every Monday is “$1 Hot Dog Night,” sponsored by Pilot/Oscar Mayer and Church Bulletin Night, sponsored by LifeWay Christian Stores.
TV Tuesdays: Every Tuesday, the Smokies have themed each game after some of your favorite television shows. In addition, is the ever-popular Pilot Prize Night, where everyone’s a winner and KRAFT Singles Tuesday Night Tickets. Fans can receive two-for-one tickets by bringing a KRAFT Singles wrapper to the Smokies ticket office.
Website Wednesdays: We will highlight some of the world’s favorite websites, including Facebook, YouTube and even the forgotten websites.
Thrifty Thursdays: On Thursday is our popular “Kids Eat Free,” where kids 12 & under (with a purchased ticket) will receive a coupon for one free hot dog, a bag of chips and a soda. Following each Thursday game will be the Shoney’s Kids Run the Bases. Kids 12 & under will have the chance to run the bases just like the Smokies. Thursday is also a Pilot Prize Night, where everyone’s a winner!
Fireworks Fridays: Fireworks nights are back with a blast at Smokies Park. The Tennessee Smokies will light up the sky after each Friday night game starting April 15 courtesy of Pepsi, Coors Light, WIVK, WVLT TV-8 and the Knoxville News Sentinel. Each fireworks spectacular will be accompanied by a different genre of music.
Sensational Saturdays: On Saturday nights, Smokies games will feature cool giveaways and some of the nation’s best traveling acts. No two weekends will be the same, so don’t miss a single one. And following each Saturday game will be our “Post Game Tennis Ball Toss,” sponsored by Fast Frame.
Family FUNdays: Sundays will again feature the best family fun entertainment that Minor League Baseball has to offer. Game themes include “Board Game Night,” “Kids Run the Show Night” and much more.
Also back in 2011, are the Smokies’ county nights. Monday is Blount County Night, Tuesday is Jefferson/Hamblen County Night, Wednesday is Sevier County Night and Thursday is Knox County Night. If you live or work in these respective counties, bring proof to the Smokies ticket office and receive $2 off your game ticket.
Individual game tickets for the Tennessee Smokies 2011 season will go on sale on line Wednesday, March 2, at 10:00 a.m. The Smokies kick off the 2011 home season against the Montgomery Biscuits on April 13.
