The proposed new baseball stadium in eastern Montgomery County (TX) at a site in Porter, near Kingwood, will not be ready for the 2012 season as planned. Outstanding key decisions over funding, siting and other issues by the project’s partners, which include Grand Prairie-based Ventura Sports Group, Sugar Land-based Wallace Bajjali Development Partners, and the East Montgomery County Improvement District, have delayed the project. Thanks, Alan. No wonder I had forgotten about this ballpark – it was announced last March and apparently not much has been made about it since.

While it has not be formalized (as far as we know), the expectation is that it would be for an expansion American Association team, as Ventura Sports Group already has the Grand Prairie AirHogs, El Paso Diablos, and the new Laredo team in its portfolio.
