Hawks Announce New Promo Calendar

PRESS RELEASE – National entertainment acts, fireworks, giveaways, and music concerts highlight the 2011 promotional calendar as announced today by the South Bend Silver Hawks. With 71 scheduled games at newly renovated Coveleski Stadium, every night will feature entertainment that goes above and beyond the game itself.

Individual game tickets go on sale at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, March 1st. Tickets can be purchased online, at the Coveleski Stadium Box Office, or by calling (574) 235-9988.

“Minor League Baseball is growing by leaps and bounds throughout America because of the fun and affordable family entertainment that surrounds the game itself,” said Lynn Kachmarik, Vice President and General Manager for the Silver Hawks. “A trip to the Cove in 2011 will be an entire show built around a baseball game.”

Where the week ends for most, the Silver Hawks are just getting started with a focus on creating the best weekend experience in Michiana.

Start the weekend early with Thirsty Thursday presented by Budweiser, Pepsi, and 103.9 FM The Bear. Each night will feature a pregame happy hour concert series featuring local rock, country, and Irish bands with drink specials throughout the night.

Fireworks have been a fan favorite for years and they will continue with nine different Friday home games from Memorial Day weekend through the end of the season presented by 1st Source Bank and WNDU. Additionally, the July 3rd and July 4th home games will feature postgame fireworks as well to celebrate Independence Day in grand fashion.

Grand Slam Saturdays take on a whole new feel in 2011 as the Silver Hawks offer giveaway items and welcome in new entertainment acts to delight fans of all ages. Bring the kids early for a pregame concert from local band Jetta and the Jellybeans presented by the South Bend Tribune and stay for national entertainment acts like ZOOperstars!, BirdZerk!, and Jake the Diamond Dog.

The fun continues on Social Sundays presented by Pepsi and Pulse FM as the Silver Hawks celebrate the age-old tradition of spending a family day at the ballpark. Gates open early so families can come in and watch the teams take batting and infield practice. Once the players are finished warming up, fans are invited down to the outfield to run around and play catch.

A new twist on Mondays in 2011 as the Silver Hawks introduce Block Party Night presented by your neighborhood Applebee’s and WAOR. Enjoy multiple concession items for just $1 or $2 each and feed the family without breaking the bank. Looking for free food?
