PRESS RELEASE – The New Hampshire Fisher Cats, Double-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, today announce Advantage Food and Beverage as the team’s new food service partner for Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. In addition, the Fisher Cats have hired Matt Person as the team’s new Vice President of Business Operations, replacing Tim Restall, who will now serve as President of Advantage Food and Beverage.
Advantage Food and Beverage will be responsible for all dining areas at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium including the concessions stands, luxury suites and the Samuel Adams Bar & Grill, along with catering team functions. Restall, an original member of the Fisher Cats’ front office, moves on from the team to become President of Advantage Food and Beverage.
“I am eager to step into this position with Advantage Food and Beverage,” said Restall. “We view the stadium as New Hampshire’s biggest restaurant and want every guest who dines here to enjoy a variety of delicious foods while receiving grade-A service at an affordable price.”
In the works for the 2011 season, Advantage Food and Beverage plans to introduce many new and creative menu items from an all-you-can-eat buffet to a larger selection of healthy food options. One of the company’s main focuses is in maintaining low prices on food throughout the ballpark, stressing the importance of affordability and the quality of products offered to guests.
As a part of Advantage Food and Beverage’s efforts to enhance the ballpark dining experience, it will implement a new credit card system throughout Northeast Delta Dental Stadium, granting guests the ability to use credit and debit cards at nearly all of the concessions stands on the main concourse. Incorporated with the new credit card system, Fisher Cats Gift Cards can now also be redeemed at any area where credit cards are accepted.
“We are excited for Tim in his new role and look forward to working with Advantage Food and Beverage as they strive to provide our fans with the highest quality food, catering and service possible,” said Fisher Cats President Rick Brenner. “The addition of Matt Person, an experienced and energetic executive, has boosted the strength of our front office and we are thrilled to welcome him aboard.”
Person joins the Fisher Cats after serving as the Assistant General Manager of the Colorado Springs Sky Sox, Triple-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, since the 2008 season. While there he helped guide the Sky Sox franchise to a pair of single season attendance records. Person brings with him over eight years of experience in professional baseball, beginning his career as an Account Executive with the Eastern League’s New Britain Rock Cats before advancing to the Assistant General Manager’s position with the Modesto Nuts, Single-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies.
“Matt has clearly demonstrated the management and leadership skills needed for this position through his impressive ascent as a sports business executive,” said DSF Sports Owner Art Solomon. “We are pleased to welcome him to the Fisher Cats family as his contributions will benefit the organization from top to bottom.”
In 2009, Person was named a “Rising Star” in the Colorado Springs Business Journal, honoring Rising Stars in the Colorado Springs community under the age of 40 that are professionally accomplished and involved in the community. The Sudbury, M.A., native, is a graduate of Colgate University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in economics with a minor in philosophy.
“I am excited to join an award winning franchise that has upheld a proud tradition of making a positive impact in the community,” said Person. “I’d like to thank Art and Rick for this great opportunity and look forward to working with the great fans and partners of the Fisher Cats.”
