PRESS RELEASE – With the start of spring training just around the corner, the New Orleans Zephyrs today unveiled the slogan “Big-Time Baseball, Big-Easy Fun,” which will be used as part of the marketing campaign as the team prepares for the 2011 season.
“That’s how New Orleans does baseball,” said Katie Kelly, Zephyrs Director of Marketing. “The Zephyrs not only offer professional baseball, but so much more.”
As Opening Day approaches, the Zephyrs’ marketing campaign will be seen throughout New Orleans, highlighting the many different promotions the team is offering this season.
Mondays will feature Baseball Bingo, where fans will have a chance to win prizes courtesy of Treasure Chest Casino. KRAFT Singles Tuesdays are back in 2011, with fans receiving two-for-one tickets by bringing a KRAFT Singles wrapper to the box office, and kids can run for a single on the field with Boudreaux after the game. Wined Down Wednesdays will serve as Ladies Night at the ballpark, with drink specials for women.
Thirsty Thursdays are back, with $1 sodas, $1 drafts and $2 cans of beer. The spectacular fireworks shows follow each Friday game, while Saturdays will feature the Zephyr Field concert series, fan giveaways and special appearances. Sundays are Kids Day, where the first 500 kids will receive a voucher for a free meal and the opportunity to run the bases after the game.
Between innings, some of the fans’ favorite promotions, such as Dizzy Bat and Build-A-Burger, will be returning, as will some favorites from the past, such as the River Race. There will also be some new promotions between innings, including Inflatable Horse Racing.
“No matter what night of the week you come to Zephyr Field, we want you to have a memorable experience with us,” said Jack Craig, Zephyrs Director of Promotions. “Fans should also be on the lookout for a new mascot joining Boudreaux this year!”
The Zephyrs’ home opener is Friday, April 15 against the Round Rock Express, which will feature a magnet schedule giveaway and postgame fireworks. For information on ticket plans, group outings and sponsorship opportunities, call the Zephyrs at (504) 734-5155.
