PRESS RELEASE – The Norfolk Tides introduced Joe Pinto as the new Director of Business Development and Marketing on Thursday. The 47-year old most recently served as the General Manager of Roger Dean Stadium in Jupiter, Fl.
“We are thrilled to have Joe on board with us in 2011. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table, and his addition will serve to enhance the fan experience at Harbor Park,” Tides General Manager Dave Rosenfield said.
Pinto, a Frederick, Md. native, brings 15 years of experience at the minor league level with him to Norfolk. He began his trek in the industry in 1996 with the Frederick Keys and ultimately served as the team’s General Manager from 2000-04. He assumed the same role with the Lancaster Barnstormers of the Atlantic League from 2004-06 before moving into his role with the Roger Dean Stadium prior to the 2008 season.
While with Roger Dean Stadium, Pinto oversaw the day-to-day operations of the entire complex. Roger Dean Stadium serves as the spring training home of the Florida Marlins and St. Louis Cardinals as well as the home to the Florida State League’s Jupiter Hammerheads and Palm Beach Cardinals.
In addition to his role with the Tides, Pinto will also serve in a similar capacity with the Frederick Keys and Bowie Baysox.
