According to a news report on Thursday, MLB attorneys were asked to look into possible trademark and copyright infringment by the Amarillo franchise.
Interestingly, Sox General Manager Mark Lee had the “TM” symbol removed from the new logo because the logo had not been registered as a trademark. However, the use was appropriate. The “TM” symbol is used when you are claiming rights to a mark, but without federal registration. The “®” symbol is used for a registered mark.
