Dwight Gooden to Speak at Hall of Fame Dinner

PRESS RELEASE – 1984 National League Rookie of the Year and 1985 Cy Young Award winner, former New York Met Dwight “Doc” Gooden will give the keynote presentation. “Doc” also authored  a no hitter at Yankee Stadium in 1996 as a member of the Yankees. In 16 major League seasons, Gooden won 194 games while losing just 112. During his 1985 Cy Young Award winning season, he won 24 games and lost only 4.  He went 17 and 6 for the 1986 World Champion Mets.

The 2011 dinner is sponsored by Chuck Schwartz of the Schwartz Law Firm of Amsterdam, David Dittmann’s Audio Bookshelf. com, and Reality Check of Fulton and Montgomery Counties.

The evening also features the induction of the 2011 class of the Amsterdam Baseball Hall of Fame. Those inductees will be announced in the coming weeks.
