Staten Island Yanks in Dispute over Ballpark Rent

The Single-A Staten Island Yankees are in a dispute with the local Economic Development Corp. over rent due for using Richmond County Bank Ballpark at St. George.  If the Yanks don’t meet a certain attendance threshold, they pay no rent.  The debate is over 1,756 tickets that the Yanks argue were “complimentary.”  If counted, the Yanks would crack the threshold to pay rent.  Read more here.  There is a good lesson here for any owner out there negotiating a lease payment based on attendance figures.
