Frisco Roughriders Named Texas League Organization of the Year

PRESS RELEASE – For the second time in the history of the franchise, the RoughRiders have been named the Texas League “Organization of the Year.” The award was previously given to the club in 2006. This honor comes on the heels of the ‘Riders leading all of Double-A baseball in attendance for the sixth straight season.

“The RoughRiders have long been recognized as a club that takes tremendous pride in entertaining their fans and providing value for the price of admission,” said Texas League President, Tom Kayser. “In addition to tending to the enjoyment of their fans, the RoughRiders also have done a tremendous job of taking care of league players and umpires with an award winning field and top rated clubhouse services.”

The ‘Riders averaged over 8,000 fans per game in 2010 and earned league-wide praise for having the best grounds crew, umpire hotel, and visiting clubhouse in the Texas League. Away from the ballpark, the RoughRiders Foundation will raise over $100,000 for community groups in DFW.

“2010 was another outstanding year for our franchise,” remarked RoughRiders’ President/General Manager, Scott Sonju. “Our staff strives each year to set the standard in the Texas League. It is great to be recognized and I’m so proud of our staff, fans, and partners.”

The ‘Riders open up the 2011 season at Dr Pepper Ballpark on April 7th. For tickets visit http://www.ridersbaseball.com or call (972) 731-9200.
