Birmingham Mayor William Bell has indicated that the city will not build a new ballpark without a team. Hoover Mayor Tony Petelos hopes the Double-A Birmingham Barons will stay put at Regions Park in Hoover. As reported, the Birmingham City Council this week approved a plan by Mayor Bell to increase the lodging tax to support a new downtown park.
