Consultant: Escondido Ballpark Would Draw 500,000

The consultant for San Diego Padres owner Jeff Moorad believes that a new Escondido (CA) ballpark for the Triple-A Portland Beavers would draw 500,000 fans each year.  He also said that spending $20 million to secure the franchise and $50 million for the ballpark has its risks, but the potential for success at the gate and collateral development is substantial.  Read more here.
