Bobblehead Night in Green Bay for ESPN’s John Anderson

PRESS RELEASE – ESPN SportsCenter Anchor and ABC WIPEOUT Co-host John Anderson will appear Tuesday August 10th for the Green Bay Bullfrogs “John Anderson Bobble Head Night” at Joannes Stadium. The first 500 people in attendance will receive a commemorative bobble head featuring John Anderson as a 14-year old who won the Babe Ruth Baseball City Championship in 1979 playing for the National Merchandising Company (NAMCO).

Anderson claims that Championship (played at Joannes Stadium) as his greatest sports achievement and the Bullfrogs will honor that feat August 10th. In addition to the bobble head give-away, the team will wear special ESPN-themed jerseys for the game which will be offered in a silent-auction taking place throughout the game. Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Anderson Family Charitable Foundation (AFCF).

The Anderson Family Charitable Foundation was formed in 2009 by John & Tamara Anderson to provide assistance to under-served school-aged children and their families. Last August, the AFCF partnered with North American Licensing Company for a back-to-school Backpack Project benefitting the Green Bay Public School system. The project furnished 500 backpacks filled with school supplies to the entire 1st and 2nd grade students at two under-served Green Bay elementary schools.

Anderson has been with ESPN since 1999 and currently hosts their flagship program SportsCenter. He also is Co-Host of the ABC television series WIPEOUT which airs Tuesdays at 7pm on WBAY. Anderson is a 1983 graduate of Southwest High School here in Green Bay.
