J.P. Morgan Chase filed a lawsuit on Friday claiming that the rights to the Rangers’ lease of the Ballpark in Arlington cannot be sold as part of the Rangers’ voluntary Chapter 11 bankrupcty, because it’s not an asset that the Rangers truly own. This could throw a wrench into the scheduled Aug. 4 auction for the Rangers, as no suitor in his/her right mind would touch the Rangers with a lease agreement in question. Read more here.
