PRESS RELEASE – Thursday, July 1 the Scrappers return to Eastwood Field to open up a three-game series against the Jamestown Jammers. The first game of the series features a LeBron James Stay in Cleveland Rally.
Highlights of the rally aimed at keeping Akron native LeBron James in Cleveland are a rally towel giveaway and a free lower box seat ticket for anyone wearing Cleveland Cavalier or LeBron James gear. Conversely, anyone wearing Chicago, New York, or Miami gear is not allowed in the ballpark for the game. If the Scrappers score six or more runs during the game, every fan in attendance receives a free ticket for either the Friday, July 2 or Saturday, July 3 game against the Jammers.
The team will name a seating section after James should he stay and donate 23 tickets per game in that section for the remainder of the season to local community and youth organizations. Also on the condition James stay with the Cavs, the Scrappers will provide their grounds crew to cut his grass and their cleaning crew to clean his house for one year. Additionally, a giant card expressing local support for James’ return is to be sent to the Cavs, and Scrappers fans attending Thursday’s game have the opportunity to sign it.
Thursday night is also a Plevin & Gallucci Buck Night featuring $1 general admission tickets, hot dogs, and 12 oz. drinks.
