Chainsaw Juggling, Giveaways, and Redundancy on Tap at BCB

PRESS RELEASE – The first-place Altoona Curve return home to Blair County Ballpark on Tuesday, June 8 to open up a six-game homestand with the Harrisburg Senators (AA – Washington Nationals) and New Britain Rock Cats (AA – Minnesota Twins) that runs through Sunday, June 13.  The fun-filled homestand contains three giveaway nights, a chainsaw-juggling guest, a tribute to all things redundant and Sunday Night Fireworks.

StrasburgPoster.jpgThe homestand will begin Tuesday with a newly-added giveaway, a Commemorative Poster of Stephen Strasburg’s Pro Debut at Blair County Ballpark, to the first 1,000 fans thanks to theprinters.com.  Strasburg will be making his Major League debut against the Pirates in Washington the same night and the poster will commemorate the day (April 11, 2010) that the most-highly touted prospect in memory made his first professional appearance.  The 7 p.m. game is also a Two-for-Tuesday presented by Atlantic Broadband and KRAFT Singles.

Wednesday night marks the third installment of the Curve’s Wacky Wednesday nights with the theme for this Wednesday’s game being Redundancy Night.  The Curve pays homage to all things redundant ranging from Brett Favre’s annual offseason retirement saga to people with the similar first and last names during the 7 p.m. contest.  It’s also Bedford County Community night at the ballpark. Saturday night is another one of our Community Collection Days at Blair County Ballpark.  We’re asking that you bring in your old American Flags to have them properly disposed of courtesy of the American Legion.

A Sunday Night Fireworks show presented by Panera Bread wraps up the six-game homestand on Sunday at 6 p.m.  Fans can make their way on to the field before the game to have a game of catch and then kids can come run the bases after the game as well.  Every Sunday at Blair County Ballpark is always a Galliker’s Kids Sunday.
