PRESS RELEASE – There’s nothing quite like a day at the ballpark and BlueClaws fans have felt that way this year even more than the last few. The BlueClaws announced Tuesday that attendance in 2010, currently at 5,688 fans per game, is at its highest point on this date since 2005.
The BlueClaws are currently in their 10th season of play at FirstEnergy Park in Lakewood.
“We knew going in, that with it being our tenth season, it was going to be a special year,” said BlueClaws General Manager Geoff Brown. “We have a long way to go, some great things on tap, and things couldn’t be going any better.”
On April 18th, 8,775 came out on a Sunday afternoon to break the team’s April single-game attendance mark. It was also the team’s 92nd crowd of over 8,000 in their 10 years.
The BlueClaws also once again lead the South Atlantic League in attendance, as they have done over their first nine years.
“We really have a great group of fans and everything we do is because of them,” added Brown.
After a brief three-game road trip, the BlueClaws return home on Monday for a seven-game homestand that could decide if the team returns to the playoffs for the second straight year.
Tickets for all remaining BlueClaws home games are available by calling 732-901-7000 or online at BlueClaws.com.
