PRESS RELEASE – Now in their third season, the Springfield Sliders have released the most exciting promotional schedule to date. With attractions such as Team Ghost Riders, bobblehead giveaways, fireworks nights, Cardinals Alumni autograph night and an Opening Day ceremony to honor Robin Roberts.
The Sliders presenting sponsor, St. John’s Children’s Hospital will be heavily involved with this years’ promotional schedule as they feature their “Safe at Home” campaign. St. John’s will be giving away bicycle helmets, smoke detectors, oven mitts and safety lights.
Team Ghost Riders will highlight the second weekend of the season when they come to entertain Sliders fans. Team Ghost Riders is monkeys that are dressed up as cowboys, riding dogs, all while herding sheep, acts that will most certainly get Springfield talking. They will be here putting on their show June 11 and 12.
The Sliders will have eight always-popular fireworks nights, with six shows sponsored by United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Local No. 16 on each Friday and June 27. This is the most fireworks shows the Sliders have offered and it starts Opening Day, June 5 with the first show of the season.
Many giveaways will have fans wanting to get to the ballpark early. Back by popular demand, there will be two opportunities for Jack Clark and Speedy bobbleheads, presented by the Springfield Park District. Other giveaways include Beach Towels sponsored by Outback Steakhouse, t-shirts, mini-bats, baseball cards and team posters.
County Market will also be featured in this year’s “County Market Photo Series.” Fans will have five different opportunities to receive a special keepsake at every Sunday game and if you shop at County Market before the game, you can get free tickets to Sunday games as well!
