PRESS RELEASE – The Traverse City Beach Bums are excited to announce that WLDR, Sunny Country 101.9 morning show host and Programming Director Dave B. Goode will be joining the team as the on-field emcee.
“I couldn’t be more excited to spend the summer at Wuerfel Park!” says Goode, “I better bring the sunscreen or I’ll end up bright red like Sunburn . . . I grew up in Chicago and would take the train into the city to see Cubs games…this is a dream summer job for me!”
The Beach Bums share that enthusiasm,
“We’re excited about having ‘Dizzy’ Dave [B. Goode] be our on-field person,” said Beach Bums managing member, John Wuerfel. “He’s a fixture in the community and is very upbeat, responsive and fun and is a super addition to the Beach Bums that our fans are going to love.”
Goode has been at WLDR-FM for about a year and a half, but has been “up north” for over four years hosting the morning show on 106KHQ for three years prior to his current gig. He has also worked in Detroit, Grand Rapids, Muskegon, and in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
In addition to working with the Beach Bums, Goode will continue to work as the morning show host on Sunny Country where he and co-host Nikki J. are ardent Beach Bums fans.
The Traverse City Beach Bums Fifth Annual FANFest will be held Saturday, May 1st. Join us at Wuerfel Park, 8AM to 4PM. Fans will have their first chance to purchase individual game tickets for the 2010 season as well as meet players and coaches and win fantastic prizes such as a private table for four for the season or a sidewall banner for businesses.
