PRESS RELEASE – Indiana Blood Center, the Indianapolis Indians and Pepsi are encouraging blood donation this baseball season. The Triple Play promotion centers on three blood donation dates and underscores the importance of a continued, stable blood supply in Indiana this summer.
The Triple Play promotion begins April 12, when blood drive participants will be rewarded with a free reserved seat voucher to any Indians game in April or May. On June 7, 56 days later and on the first date participants are eligible to again donate, Pepsi will offer “Refresh” t-shirts as part of its national “Pepsi Refresh Project” which encourages acts of goodwill in the community. Another 56 days later, on August 2, blood drive participants will receive a co-branded Indianapolis Indians and Indiana Blood Center baseball.
Baseball fans who participate in each of the three blood drives will be entered to win the Triple Play Experience prize pack. The Experience includes four VIP tickets to the Indians final home-game of the season on the Saturday of Labor Day Weekend, September 4, a night at a downtown Indianapolis hotel and dinner for four at a downtown restaurant.
“Baseball is where it is at in the summer and there is no baseball attraction greater than Victory Field,” said Laura Ghoulame, associate director of donor services at Indiana Blood Center. “The Triple Play promotion allows us to increase the frequency of donations and at the same time partner with Pepsi to reach the Indians’ fan base with our callout for an adequate summer blood supply in Indiana.”
Triple Play blood drives will be held at all Indiana Blood Center donation centers and mobile drives on April 12, June 7 and August 2, 1010. Interested participants are encouraged to visit indianablood.org/TriplePlay to schedule an appointment and for complete contest rules.

The nonprofit community service organization was founded in 1952 to provide a continuous, safe and adequate supply of blood products and testing services first to the people in our own communities, then wherever blood products and testing services are needed.
