After a number of failed attempts over the years to replace outdated Pohlman Field, the Midwest League’s Beloit (WI) Snappers are back to the table with a proposal for a new $18-$20 million, 5,000-capacity stadium. The ballpark would be located on a 20-acre site in the Beloit Gateway Business Park. Architectural and engineerings studies of the site have been completed. Financial studies are now underway. The new stadium could open as early as 2012, which will of course hinge on the development of a workable funding package. Read more here.
