Frisco RoughRiders Hire New Voice

PRESS RELEASE – The Frisco RoughRiders are pleased to introduce Aaron Goldsmith as their new Manager of Broadcasting and Media Development.

Originally from St. Louis, Aaron will handle radio play-by-play for all 140 RoughRiders’ games on 105.3 The Fan HD2 and RidersBaseball.com, along with 10 games televised on TXA21. Along with his broadcasting duties, Aaron will serve as the lead media contact for the RoughRiders, and will be a featured speaker in the RoughRiders Speakers Bureau.

“I’m thrilled to join the RoughRiders,” said Goldsmith. “This opportunity is proof that hard work and dedication actually does payoff.” Prior to joining the ‘Riders, Aaron worked a number of seasonal broadcasting jobs, including last season in Portland, Maine with the Sea Dogs (Double-A, Red Sox) of the Eastern League. There he served as the No. 2 Broadcaster/Studio Host & Producer and was also the manager of the team’s seven-station radio network. “I believe my season in Portland was extremely instrumental in my hiring with the RoughRiders. It gave me a chance to implement a number of my ideas along with providing me a large radio network to showcase my talents.”

According to RoughRiders’ Senior Vice President Michael Byrnes, there were plenty of candidates to choose from. “We were overwhelmed with the number of applications received for the RoughRiders’ broadcasting position. What stood out about Aaron was his professionalism and the amount of creativity and versatility he brings to our Media Relations department. A lot will be asked of Aaron, but we’re confident he will handle things well.”

You can hear Aaron starting Opening Day, April 8th at 7:00 PM when the RoughRiders host the Springfield Cardinals at Dr Pepper Ballpark.
