Save Civic Stadium: Meeting Held, Fundraising Continues

Local citizens trying to rescue Civic Stadium in Eugene, OR from wrecking ball had a chance to voice their concerns and ask questions at a meeting with the Eugene School District on Thursday night.  Those in attendance included the Save Civic Stadium group, which is currently trying to raise funds for a future use feasibility study that could be done in partnership with Baltimore-based Ripken Design

Last week, the school board voted to delay for 90-days action that could lead to the sale and likely demolition of the stadium.  The stadium complex was classified as surplus property by the district after the Single-A Eugene Emeralds departed for a PK Park, a new facility built for the University of Oregon baseball team.  Read more here.
